Ukrainian defense forces have carried out a series of large-scale strikes on critical infrastructure and military depots within Russian territory and occupied areas. The operations were conducted on June 3 and the night of June 4. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) confirmed the destruction of several strategic targets, including a powder plant in the Ryazan region and a warship in the Sea of Azov.
Damage to the Ship and Powder Plant
One of the key results of the night operations was the strike on a border guard ship of project 10410, known by the code name 'Svetlyak'. The incident occurred in the waters of the Sea of Azov. The Russian Navy lost an active warship, which is confirmed by official data from the General Staff.
Significant damage was also inflicted on the Russian defense industry. The 'Elastik' powder plant in the Ryazan region was hit. According to Ukrainian military data, a fire covering an area of more than 400 square meters was recorded on the enterprise's territory after the attack. The plant is a key link in the chain of ammunition production for the Russian army.
Attacks on Logistics and Depots in Crimea and the South
Defense forces also struck logistical hubs and fuel depots (petroleum products). In particular, targets in Simferopol (Autonomous Republic of Crimea) and Melitopol (Zaporizhzhia region) were attacked. The destruction of fuel reserves deals a direct blow to the mobility of Russian equipment in the front-line zone.
Several targets ensuring the combat readiness of occupation troops were hit in the Donetsk region. Strikes were delivered on:
- The area of concentration of weapons and military equipment near the settlement of Novoegeyevka.
- An enemy command post in the Ocheryetino area.
- A ammunition depot in the Grinthal area.
Strikes on Industrial Facilities in Central Russia
The range and accuracy of strikes were confirmed by attacks on facilities in central Russia. In the Tambov region, a fire broke out in a warehouse at the 'Mikhailovsky Progress' plant, covering an area of more than 200 square meters. The enterprise specializes in the production of chemical products, including those used in the military sector.
In the St. Petersburg area, at an oil terminal, serious damage was recorded. As a result of the attack, one tank was completely destroyed, six more tanks and two technical trestles were damaged. This causes damage to the region's fuel supply and logistics.
Reactions and Context of Events
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed information about the destruction of targets in Kronstadt and Tambov. The head of state noted that all three attacked objects are directly related to the financing or material and technical support of the Russian war machine.
Recall that on the night of June 3, Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles attacked Moscow. The Mayor of the Russian capital, Sergey Sobyanin, reported on the work of emergency services and the alleged shooting down of drones, as well as the fall of debris on adjacent territories.
The General Staff of the AFU statement emphasizes the systematic nature of the actions: 'The Ukrainian defense forces will continue to systematically take measures to force Russia to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine'. The series of strikes demonstrates the AFU's ability to hit targets both in close proximity to the front and in the deep rear of the enemy.
