Special units of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have carried out a series of successful operations in temporarily occupied territories, striking key military objects of the Russian Federation. In particular, the special forces unit 'Alpha', operating in the mid-strike zone, targeted priority objectives, including airbases, warehouses, and logistics hubs.
According to the SBU press service, these actions are being carried out within the framework of tasks set by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and are aimed at systematically reducing the enemy's military potential.
Strikes on Crimea and Donbas
Particular attention was paid to military infrastructure in Crimea. SBU drones attacked objects supporting the operation of the Russian military machine on the peninsula. Satellite imagery recorded the aftermath of strikes on the 'Dzhankoy' airbase.
In the Donetsk region, a major logistics hub in the Pokrovsk district was destroyed. This facility stored unmanned aerial vehicles, ground robotic complexes, and ammunition. The elimination of the hub significantly complicated the supply of Russian troops in this direction.
Elimination of personnel and warehouses
Special operations led to the neutralization of permanent deployment points for unmanned system pilots in Kamianske and Kamianets, Zaporizhzhia region. Additionally, military warehouses in Hranitne and Stely, Donetsk region, were destroyed.
According to the SBU, as a result of the strikes, pilots and the command staff of units managing unmanned systems and robotic complexes were eliminated. These actions disrupted the enemy's logistical chains, hindering the delivery of ammunition and fuel to forward positions.
Attacks on industrial facilities in Russia
Parallel to operations in occupied territories, on the night of July 8, unidentified drones attacked a number of objects deep within Russian territory. Two cities were hit simultaneously — Saratov and Borisoglebsk.
In Saratov, a fire broke out at an oil refinery. In Borisoglebsk, preliminary data suggests that either an oil depot or a local airfield was attacked. That same morning in Nizhnekamsk (Tatarstan), two industrial objects were attacked: the 'Nizhnekamskneftekhim' petrochemical complex and the TANEKO oil refinery.
Official confirmation of these incidents from Russian authorities has not yet been received. Nevertheless, the NASA FIRMS satellite service recorded fires at infrastructure objects in Crimea, where two substations — 'Nizhnehorodskaya' and 'NS-3' — were damaged that same night.
