Since June 2026, a new wave of enemy attacks has been recorded in Ukraine, aimed at disrupting transport logistics. The main blow struck the section of the highway connecting Kharkiv and Sumy. The situation on the highway requires drivers to be extra vigilant; however, according to military experts, simple warnings are no longer sufficient.

Goal of the attacks: severing logistical chains

Sergey Beskrestny, advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, known by the callsign "Flash," confirmed the escalation of actions in his Telegram channel. According to him, the enemy has realized the strategic importance of logistics and has begun systematic strikes on transport arteries since the beginning of the month.

"Unfortunately, the importance of attacks on logistics is understood not only by us. Since the beginning of the month, the enemy has begun to attack transport communications between Kharkiv and Sumy," wrote Beskrestny.

Vulnerable section: the Bohodukhiv area

Russian forces have paid special attention to the highway section in the area of the city of Bohodukhiv. The choice of this direction is not accidental: the section is located only 20 kilometers from the state border, making it an easy target for long-range weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles.

In this regard, the advisor to the Minister of Defense called for a review of tactics on the roads. "Requests for drivers to be careful in this situation sound meaningless, we need to think about what to do," he concluded, pointing to the need for more serious security measures that go beyond standard warnings.

Damage and risks to infrastructure

The effectiveness of such attacks has already been demonstrated in practice. A few days before Beskrestny's statement, it became known about an attack using a drone on a group of road workers. As a result of the strike, 10 units of special road machinery were destroyed, confirming the enemy's readiness to inflict damage not only on military but also on civilian infrastructure.

Experts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) also warn about the expansion of the geography of threats. According to their assessments, Russia may use the territory of Belarus to conduct drone strikes on the strategically important M-06 "Kyiv-Chop" highway. This highway runs through the western regions of Ukraine and is a key route for the delivery of humanitarian and military aid from Poland.
