In October 2026, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) of Ukraine recorded the highest figures for enemy personnel casualties since the full-scale war began. This was announced by USF Commander Robert “Magyar” Brovdi on his Telegram channel, with data cited by RBC-Ukraine. According to him, the group hit 64,807 hostile targets during the month, averaging 2,091 targets per day—or one every 41 seconds. Cumulative losses of the Russian army recorded specifically by USF units reached 16,796 personnel, setting an absolute record for this group since the beginning of the war.

Casualty Dynamics: A 52.55% Increase Over Two Months

The USF commander emphasized that the enemy personnel casualty rate demonstrates a steady upward trend. In August 2026, the group's units reported 11,010 Russian military personnel hit, in September this figure rose to 13,468, and in October it reached 16,796. Thus, compared to August, the increase was 52.55%, and compared to September, 24.71%. On average in October, the Russian army lost 542 personnel per day. The peak single-day result was recorded on October 24, when the enemy lost 701 military personnel according to USF data.

255,605 Combat Missions: Structure of Strike and Reconnaissance Sorties

During the reporting month, Unmanned Systems Forces units completed a total of 255,605 combat missions. Of these, 151.5 thousand were strike sorties and another 104 thousand were reconnaissance operations. This mission structure indicates that more than 59% of the group's total combat work is devoted to directly hitting targets, while about 41% goes to gathering intelligence to plan subsequent strikes. High sortie intensity—over 8,000 missions per day—indicates a significant expansion of the unmanned vehicle fleet and an increase in the number of operator shifts.

Geography of Hits: Dobropillya-Pokrovsk Direction Leads

The largest share of enemy personnel losses occurred across three combat directions. The Dobropillya-Pokrovsk direction became the main "hotspot" for hits: here, according to the USF, 7,360 Russian military personnel were destroyed. The Oleksandrivka and Huliaipole directions added another 4,312. In total, these three sectors accounted for 11,672 losses out of 16,796—69.49% of the group's total monthly figure. The remaining 30.51% were distributed across other frontline sectors where the USF also conduct active operations.

Context: General Loss Estimates and SBU Results

The cited figures apply exclusively to Unmanned Systems Forces units and do not cover the results of other formations of Ukraine's Defense Forces. For a broader picture, RBC-Ukraine references an estimate by the British publication The Economist: since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia may have lost between 374,000 and 770,000 military personnel killed, with total losses including wounded estimated at 1.4–2.1 million people. In parallel, operators of the SBU's Alpha Special Operations Center neutralized 3,198 Russian military personnel in one week, of whom 2,146 were killed and 1,052 wounded. The SBU stated this is a record result for the number of personnel hit over such a short period.

Methodological Caveats

It is important to note that all cited data are one-sided reports from the Ukrainian military command and cannot be independently verified amid ongoing combat operations. The Russian side does not publish comparable detailed casualty statistics, and international observers lack access to both sides of the conflict for cross-checking. Nevertheless, the consistent month-on-month growth in figures and the breakdown by direction and mission type make the USF report one of the most structured military briefings published during the current period of the war.
