The beginning of summer in Ukraine was marked by long-awaited warming and an abundance of sunny days, however, the synoptic picture on June 2 turned out to be uneven. Meteorologist and forecaster Natalka Didenko, in her Facebook account, reported that the 'summer premiere will take place under our warm applause', noting that the degrees have finally freed themselves from dependence on cold predecessors.
Warmth in Most Regions
According to the expert's forecast, during the day on June 2, the air temperature across the country will range from +20°C to +24°C. Didenko described the current situation as 'the most optimal': lots of greenery and flowers, absence of scorching heat with a lot of sun. The wind, according to the forecaster, has finally changed direction to the south, which contributes to the establishment of dry weather.
Local Anomalies and Nighttime Fluctuations
Despite the general trend towards warming, forecasters warn of the presence of hotspots of cool weather. At night, the air temperature across Ukraine, according to data from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center (UkrGMZ), may drop to +7°C in some regions and remain at +14°C in others. In the capital, Kyiv, the night temperature is expected to average around +11°C.
Forecast for Kyiv
Residents and guests of Kyiv should be prepared for weather variability in the coming days. If June 2 is dominated by dry weather in the city, the UkrGMZ forecast chart for the following days indicates the probability of precipitation. Earlier, specialists had already noted that summer this year came to Ukraine not entirely according to the calendar schedule, and spring gave way to the summer season with some delay.
