On July 13, Paris will become the center of diplomatic attention. On this day, a major meeting of leaders will take place at the Élysée Palace, organized by the so-called "Coalition of the Willing." The event will bring together at least 25 heads of state and government, with the main agenda item being the strengthening of support for Ukraine and increased pressure on the Russian side.
According to the press office of the Élysée Palace, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will be in Paris on Monday. According to the official position of the French administration, the goal of the summit is to achieve a ceasefire and resume peace negotiations in the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Expansion of the coalition and new formats of support
The "Coalition of the Willing" was created by France and the United Kingdom to provide military support and security guarantees to Ukraine. Currently, the coalition includes 35 countries, mostly from Europe. Moldova and North Macedonia will also join the event in Paris, highlighting the desire to expand the circle of participants willing to influence the situation.
The summit will take place in synchronization with the traditional military parade on the Champs-Élysées, held on Bastille Day. The French presidential administration notes that the meeting will take place at a time of "strongest transatlantic rapprochement and unity," as well as under favorable dynamics for Kyiv.
New financial instruments and future plans
One of the key announcements scheduled for July 13 will be the possibility for Ukraine to purchase military equipment and weapons from British companies using funds from a European loan. This decision aims to simplify logistics and financing of Kyiv's defense needs, linking EU resources with the production capacities of the United Kingdom.
In addition, Ukraine, together with Western partners, has agreed on a response plan for possible violations of a future ceasefire agreement by Russia. The scenario provides for strict measures: if hostilities continue even after the signing of the truce, the proposal will move to the second stage of intervention using the forces of the "Coalition of the Willing".
