On the night of June 12, a large-scale attack targeting Russian military infrastructure took place in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces launched a series of strikes that caught three Russian units off guard. The attack occurred precisely while the enemy was conducting tactical exercises.

This was reported by the Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert "Madjar" Brovdi. According to him, the target of the strike was the "Vostochny" training ground located in the village of Novopetrovka. At that moment, three units were present on the training ground, which are currently operating on the Huliaipole section of the front line.

Strategic Context of the Conflict

Events in the Zaporizhzhia region are unfolding against the backdrop of Russia's large-scale deployment of new infrastructure for launching strike drones. New facilities have been detected along the border with Belarus. Specifically, at least five such bases have been discovered in the Bryansk, Orel, and Smolensk regions.

Some of these facilities are located tens of kilometers from the Belarusian border. According to military analysts, the new infrastructure is capable of simultaneously hosting hundreds of drones. This creates a serious threat and significantly complicates the work of the Ukrainian air defense system.

Change in Enemy Tactics

Under conditions of constant pressure on the occupiers' logistical chains in the south, the nature of combat operations is undergoing changes. As reported by RBK-Ukraine, the number of assault operations by the Russian side has decreased by half. This is due to the fact that strikes on the rear areas hinder the supply of forward positions.

In response to disruptions in the delivery of artillery ammunition, Russian troops are changing their tactics. The enemy has begun to use aviation and guided air bombs more frequently, attempting to compensate for the lack of artillery fire with high-precision air strikes.
