Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Alexander Syrsky, has provided his current assessment of the situation on the front. Despite the fact that Ukrainian troops continue to effectively hold back the enemy and achieve local successes, it is premature to speak of a global turning point in the war.
Balance of power and the threat of numbers
In his statement published on Facebook, Syrsky confirmed the correctness of the chosen defense strategy. However, the general warned that the aggressor, despite signs of exhaustion, retains significant offensive potential. The enemy is trying to neutralize the Ukrainian army's superiority in training and tactical skill through a crude numerical advantage.
Particular concern is the scaling up of hostilities. According to command data, the length of the front has already exceeded 1,250 kilometers, and the enemy plans to increase it further. This requires the command to act in advance and constantly strengthen the resilience of defensive lines.
Key priorities: training and medicine
Syrsky emphasized that the training of military personnel remains an absolute priority alongside the fulfillment of combat tasks. It is the quality of training that determines not only the effectiveness of the defense but also the preservation of the defenders' lives.
The general paid special attention to the development of frontline medicine, outlining three main vectors of development:
- Implementation of ground robotic complexes for the evacuation of the wounded.
- Construction of protected underground stabilization points.
- Full digitalization of medical care processes.
Combating drones
An important aspect of modern warfare remains the confrontation with unmanned aerial vehicles. In June, the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed about 5,000 Shahed-class drones and similar UAVs. According to Syrsky, 55% of all destroyed strike drones were hit by crews of the first interception echelon, which indicates the high efficiency of the air defense calculations.
