On August 3, Ukraine is forecast to experience anomalously hot weather. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, air temperatures in several regions will reach critical levels of +38°C. Meteorologists warn of the need to take precautionary measures under conditions of extreme heat.
Anomalous heat in the south and southwest
The main strain on the body and infrastructure will fall on the southern and southwestern regions of the country. It is here that meteorologists forecast the highest temperature readings. During the day, the air will warm up to 35–38°C, which significantly exceeds the climate norm for this time of year.
Hot weather is also expected in other regions of Ukraine. Daytime temperatures will be 30–34°C. Nighttime will not bring significant relief: thermometers will only drop to 15–20°C, which will not allow the air and soil to cool down.
Precipitation and thunderstorms
Despite the general trend towards dryness, meteorologists do not rule out local precipitation. In most western and northern regions, short-term rain and thunderstorms are possible during the day. However, these phenomena will not have a significant impact on lowering temperatures across the country.
Forecast for Kyiv and the region
In the capital and Kyiv region on August 3, variable cloudiness is expected. No precipitation is forecast at night, but short-term rain and thunderstorms are possible in some places during the day. The wind will blow from variable directions at a speed of 3–8 m/s.
The temperature regime in Kyiv will be as follows: at night the air will warm up to 18–20°C, and during the day the temperature will rise to 32–34°C. In the Kyiv region, the figures will vary in the range of 15–20°C at night and 30–34°C during the day.
