Ukrainians are in for a sharp change in weather conditions at the beginning of the week: brief rains and thunderstorms will alternate with abnormally hot days. The air will warm up to +26°C, however, meteorologists warn of possible gusts and hail in certain regions.
Critical wind and local storms
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, variable cloudiness is expected throughout the country today. The main threat will be winds from the west and southwest with speeds of 7–12 m/s. However, the situation may worsen in the east and southeast of the country: during the day, forecasters predict gusts of up to 15–20 m/s and hail in certain areas.
Temperature imbalance across regions
Despite the precipitation, the air temperature will remain high. Weather conditions will be uneven:
- In the western and northern regions, as well as in the Vinnytsia and Cherkasy regions, it will be +18...+23°C during the day.
- On the rest of the territory of the country, the thermometer columns will rise to +21...+26°C.
Situation in Kyiv
Residents of the capital are also falling into a zone of unstable weather. Variable cloudiness with brief rains is forecast for Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Thunderstorms are possible in the region, so residents are advised to be cautious when outdoors.
Forecast context
Extreme weather phenomena at the beginning of the week are a continuation of the general trend, which specialists of the hydro-meteorological center previously warned about, predicting the nature of the weather for the entire month of June. Experts also remind that modern forecasts are based on a complex analysis of data, and global climate change requires Ukrainians to be ready for more frequent and sharp fluctuations in atmospheric conditions.
