Ukrainians, accustomed to the summer heat, will have to grab their umbrellas on Wednesday, July 11. Forecasters predict a significant change in weather conditions across the country: instead of stable heat, cloudy weather with clearings, short-term downpours, and thunderstorms in some areas are expected.
Weather map: from coolness in the west to heat in the south
According to data from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, published by RBC-Ukraine, the temperature regime in the country will be uneven. While the west and central regions will show moderate values, the southern and eastern regions will still feel the breath of real summer.
Forecasters clarify the following temperature indicators for the daytime hours:
- In the western and central regions, the air will warm up to +17...+22°C.
- In the central regions, temperatures may reach +25°C.
- Heat will persist in the south and east of Ukraine: from +23°C to +28°C.
Wind and precipitation
In addition to rain clouds, the weather will be accompanied by active wind. A south-westerly wind with a speed of 5–10 m/s is expected across the entire country. The exception will be the western part of Ukraine, where the wind direction will change to north-westerly.
Special attention should be paid to the forecast for the capital. In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, cloudy weather with clearings is also expected. Short-term rains are likely during the day, and forecasters warn of the possibility of thunderstorms in the region.

The weather change on July 11 is not a random event. Earlier, meteorologists warned that the current week in Ukraine would differ from previous ones: the heat would subside. In a number of regions, not only a drop in temperatures but also active thunderstorm activity is forecasted. Thus, an umbrella in a bag will become a mandatory accessory for many residents of the country in these days.
