In the era of rapid technological development, the lifespan of a gadget is determined not only by processor power or display matrix quality. A key factor influencing the device's relevance in the long term is the manufacturer's policy regarding software updates. Regular operating system updates and security patches guarantee that your tablet will remain protected from new threats and functional years after purchase.

Specialists from BGR, citing data from RBC-Ukraine, have prepared an overview of Android tablets that offer the most reliable software support conditions. The range of prices and specifications among these models allows you to choose an optimal solution for various tasks.

Chinese Giants: Xiaomi and Honor

The Chinese brand Xiaomi demonstrates an aggressive strategy in the field of device support. The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro model, released in 2026 with the HyperOS 3 system interface based on Android 16, received a guarantee of four major OS updates and six years of security patches.

This means the tablet will receive new versions of the operating system until 2030, while security updates will be provided at least until 2032. Similar conditions apply to the base version of the Xiaomi Pad 8. The cost of these models in Ukraine ranges from 28,000 to 32,000 hryvnias.

The competitor is Honor with the Magic Pad 4 model. The manufacturer promises six years of operating system updates and quarterly security patches. The device runs on MagicOS 10 (based on Android 16). The same long support period is also claimed for the Honor Pad 10 model. The price of the Honor MagicPad 4 in Ukraine starts from 39,800 hryvnias and can reach 43,600 hryvnias.

Optimization and Reliability: OnePlus and Samsung

Particular attention deserves the OnePlus Pad Go 2 model. The manufacturer guarantees five years of Android updates and six years of security patches. The gadget debuted with the OxygenOS 16 system based on Android 16 and will receive OS versions up to Android 21, maintaining support until 2031.

It is important to note that despite the company's decision to change its presence in some Western markets, obligations to service already released gadgets remain in force. This makes the device an attractive option for those looking for a balance between price and durability: in Ukraine, the cost is about 12,800–17,800 hryvnias.

The leader in support terms at the moment is the flagship Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra tablet. The company offers a record seven years of operating system updates and security patches. Released with One UI 8 based on Android 16, it will remain relevant at least until 2032. Such prolonged support also applies to the base Galaxy Tab S11 model, as well as a number of the brand's smartphones. The cost of the flagship in Ukraine ranges from 47,000 to 78,999 hryvnias depending on the configuration.

Google Policy Adjustment

Google has also revised its terms for the Pixel Tablet model, presented in mid-2023. Initially, the device had a guarantee of three years of OS updates and five years of security. However, in 2026, the company expanded its support policy by adding another two years of Android updates.

Thus, the total support period increased to five years for the operating system and will last, at least, until June 2028. The cost of the Pixel Tablet in Ukraine is approximately from 21,800 to 31,000 hryvnias.

Choosing a tablet today is an investment in time. Knowing the support terms, users can be sure that their device will not turn into a "brick" after a couple of years, but will continue to receive important features and data protection.
