On the night of July 2, the capital of Ukraine experienced one of the most massive attacks in recent times. As a result of a mass drone and missile strike on Kyiv, residential areas and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged. One of the key episodes of this tragedy was the destruction of the logistics complex of the ERC holding, which housed the only warehouse of the Moyo electronics chain.
Destruction of a key logistics link
Representatives of the Moyo press service confirmed to RBK-Ukraine that the attack completely destroyed the network's only warehouse, where the entire product assortment was stored. The warehouse facilities of the entire ERC holding were also located on this territory. At the moment, it is impossible to assess the exact volume of material losses: rescue operations are still ongoing, and access to office and warehouse premises is closed due to the danger of collapses and fires.
Despite the catastrophic damage, the company has already launched a business continuity plan. Moyo emphasized that their structure is diversified: a significant part of the stock is in transit or has already been paid for by partners, and distribution covers several countries. This allows the retailer to continue fulfilling obligations to customers, although with certain difficulties.
What awaits buyers and partners
Currently, the company is focused on the operational restoration of logistics chains. Buyers are asked to be prepared for possible changes in order delivery times. If it becomes impossible to fulfill a specific order, customers are guaranteed a full refund.
At the moment, it is impossible to predict how the loss of the warehouse will affect the availability of certain product categories. The final picture will only form after the emergency services finish their work and a full inventory of remaining resources is conducted.
Legal consequences and insurance
It is important to note that the damaged property and real estate of Moyo were insured. In parallel, the company is preparing a package of evidence to file lawsuits for compensation for damages caused by Russian aggression. In particular, this concerns international jurisdictions and countries where frozen Russian assets are located.
Fortunately, no human casualties among the staff have been recorded. Night shift workers, who were present at the time of the strike, managed to take shelter in accordance with internal safety protocols.
