Ukrainian passengers now have the opportunity to travel across the country with their own car. The railway carrier 'Ukrzaliznytsia' has integrated special car-carrying wagons into its train compositions, significantly expanding logistics options for citizens.
Routes and directions
Specialized wagons operate on lines connecting the largest cities in Ukraine. According to the carrier's official rules, car transportation can be arranged in the following directions:
- Kyiv;
- Kharkiv;
- Odesa;
- Dnipro;
- Lviv;
- Uzhhorod.
The service is available in both direct and return directions.
How to place an order
To send a vehicle, the driver must submit an application in advance. This can be done in two ways: through the railway operator's official website or by personally visiting the station ticket office. Payment for the service is made exclusively at specialized baggage offices at the stations.
Required documents
To successfully arrange transportation, the driver must provide two documents. This requirement is a mandatory condition for loading the car into the special wagon.
New wagons and social programs
Alongside the launch of car transportation, 'Ukrzaliznytsia' continues to modernize its passenger fleet. New sleeper wagons of domestic production have already been deployed on popular routes, particularly to Uzhhorod and Dnipro. They offer additional amenities for passengers with children and those choosing upper bunks.
Furthermore, the social program '3000 km across Ukraine' continues to operate in the summer of 2026. It allows citizens to travel the country for free within a set annual limit. However, the carrier warns that due to high seasonal demand, the number of available free seats and routes may change daily.
