US President Donald Trump made a bold statement that instantly swept through global media: according to him, the war with Iran is over. The White House chief claims that Tehran has officially agreed never to possess nuclear weapons.

"I don't know if you've heard yet, but today we ended the war with Iran. And they agreed never to possess nuclear weapons," Trump stated while commenting on the situation in the Middle East.

Strike Cancellation and "Final Provisions"

This announcement marked an unexpected turn of events, considering that just a few hours earlier, the American leader had warned of impending large-scale actions. Trump had promised to deliver a "very strong" blow to Iran and even announced the capture of Kharg Island, a key center for Iranian oil exports.

However, plans for the military operation were canceled at the last moment. According to the US President, this happened because the "final provisions" of the agreement between the two sides were approved. Thus, instead of a missile attack, the parties, as Washington claims, moved to diplomatic resolution.

Reaction from Tehran: Skepticism and Silence

Despite Donald Trump's confidence, Iran reacted to his words with extreme caution. No official confirmation of the arrangements from Tehran has been received yet. Moreover, representatives of the Iranian government have directly questioned the words of the American leader.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei told state media that the country has not yet made a final decision regarding any agreement with the US. He emphasized that reports of reaching an agreement are "mere speculation".

An even harsher assessment was given by Ebrahim Rezaei, a representative of the Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee. Posting his thoughts on the social network X, he wrote: "The probability of deception by Trump is high." The politician expressed the opinion that the White House chief may be trying to temporarily maintain a calm situation while simultaneously calling on Iran not to stop its attacks.

What is happening behind the scenes?

While Iranian officials remain in the shadows, American sources are trying to shed light on the details of a possible deal. The publication Axios reports that the US and Iran have agreed on the text of a preliminary agreement.

According to this information, the document provides for an extension of the ceasefire regime for 60 days, as well as the easing of sanctions against Tehran. It is not yet clear whether this is a full-fledged peace treaty or just a temporary truce, but the fact remains: Trump has announced the end of the conflict, although Iran continues to insist that a decision has not yet been made.
