US President Donald Trump stated that a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran will be signed within the next few hours. He made this announcement in phone interviews with Axios journalist Barak Ravid and Fox News' Trey Yingst, as reported by RBC-Ukraine.

Deal despite escalation

According to Trump, the plan to sign an agreement to end the conflict between the US and Iran remains in effect, despite Israel's recent attack on Beirut and the threat of retaliatory measures from Tehran. The President emphasized that he was extremely dissatisfied with Israel's actions and personally conveyed this message to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"Why did Bibi need to stage this damn attack? I was so angry. I made it clear to him. He has no common sense whatsoever. I made that clear to him... I conveyed this message to him — I am very displeased with the attack in Beirut," Trump stated in his conversation with Barak Ravid.

Request to Iran and signing format

In a comment to Trey Yingst, the US leader essentially reiterated the same points, adding that he would ask Iran to refrain from missile strikes on Israel. According to him, the agreement with Iran is expected to be signed within the next 2–3 hours.

The signing of the deal will take place in an online format, however, an in-person ceremony is planned in Europe within a week. Following this, Trump intends to immediately issue an order to lift the blockade on Iranian ports.
