Donald Trump, President of the United States, made a sensational statement regarding a secret military operation during which, according to him, millions of barrels of Iranian oil were exported. This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing a TASS publication.

Secret mission through the Strait of Hormuz

In his speech, Trump revealed details of the actions of the US Armed Forces, which, according to him, had long remained hidden from the public. On the social network Truth Social, he wrote that he ordered the escort of oil tankers and commercial vessels through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.

"Today I am happy to report that this operation resulted in more than 100 million barrels of oil passing through the strait and reaching the open market," the White House chief shared.

Night raid and destruction of radars

The US President emphasized that the operation was conducted at night and involved a large shipment of Iranian oil. According to him, no one, including Iran, knew about the planned actions.

"Recently at night we took 22 ships. Late at night, without lights. Since they didn't have radar — we bombed it to hell," Trump stated, explaining exactly how the secrecy of the operation was ensured.

Impact on global prices

The American leader directly linked the conducted operation to the change in the cost of black gold on the world market. In his opinion, it was precisely these events that became one of the reasons why the price of a barrel reached the mark of about $85.

It should be noted that Trump did not provide any additional details regarding the exact time of the operation, the route of the ships, or the specific volumes of oil exported. He also did not specify exactly which area the described events took place in.

Market reaction

At the moment, the President's statement remains the only public comment on this matter. Against the backdrop of these words and the general escalation of the situation in the Middle East, global oil prices are showing growth. The cost of the Brent benchmark grade exceeded $92 per barrel, while American WTI oil approached the $89 mark.
