A concept for a special limited-edition passport commemorating the anniversary of the nation's independence has been unveiled in the United States. This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing a post by US President Donald Trump on the social network Truth Social.
History in every document
The pages of the commemorative document, presented the day before, feature reproductions of historical documents and symbols, including the text of the Declaration of Independence. The updated design aims to highlight the historical significance of the US 250th anniversary.
Discussions are currently ongoing regarding which specific graphic elements will be finalized. The White House has referred inquiries about the official status of the concept to the US Department of State, which has not provided final confirmation regarding the approved design.
How to get the bicentennial passport
Commemorative passports for the US 250th anniversary were announced back in April as a limited series of documents with special artistic designs on the covers and inner pages.
They will be issued by default at the Washington Passport Agency for those applying for an update in person.
Online applications and requests at other passport agencies or consulates will result in standard passports with the current design.
Context and current design
Currently, the inside cover of US passports features an image of a painting by Percy Moran dedicated to the writing of the country's national anthem, accompanied by corresponding lines from the text.
