On the night of June 18, temporarily occupied Crimea came under attack by Ukrainian drones again. This time, the targets were the critically important transport arteries of the peninsula — two bridges ensuring the logistics of Russian troops.

Information about the attack came from the pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel "Crimean Wind," cited by RBC-Ukraine. According to eyewitnesses, about 20 powerful explosions were heard in the area of the village of Razdolnoye in the Ichkinsky district.

Attack Targets: The "Humpback" Bridge and the Railway Artery

Two strategic objects located in close proximity to each other were hit. The first target was the railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal. It is along this branch that Russia transfers heavy military equipment and fuel for its units stationed in southern Ukraine.

The second target was the road bridge, known colloquially as the "humpback." It is also located near the railway crossing and plays an important role in the region's transport interchange.

At the moment, the exact extent of damage to both structures is unknown. However, footage capturing explosions and a large fire in the area of the railway bridge has already appeared on social media.

Strategy of Isolating the Peninsula

These attacks fit into the overall strategy of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to blockade Crimea. Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov previously stated that Ukrainian drones are already effectively blockading the peninsula, and in the near future, it could turn into an isolated "island."

Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Brovda, known by the callsign "Madjar," confirmed these intentions, noting that Ukraine plans to completely cut off Crimea from Russia in the near future.

The Russian command, it seems, is aware of the threat. Spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, reported that the occupiers fear a landing of Ukrainian marines on the peninsula. In this regard, Russia is actively strengthening the defense of Crimea, preparing for a possible scenario of breaking the blockade.
