The Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Ukrainian Association of Football has issued a ruling obliging Kryvyi Rih's Kryvbas to pay a mandatory financial contribution of 5,000 hryvnias. The reason for the sanction is a violation of regulatory standards committed by the club's players after the Ukrainian Premier League match of the 9th round against LNZ, which ended in a crushing defeat for the hosts. This is reported by Sport RBC.UA citing the official UAF CDC decision.

The Essence of the Violation: Ignoring the Post-Match Protocol

According to UPL regulations, after each match, team representatives are required to attend flash interviews—a brief post-match procedure during which journalists ask questions to players and the coaching staff. On October 18, following the defeat against LNZ, not a single Kryvbas player appeared in the flash interview zone. The CDC classified this episode as a violation of regulatory standards and fined the club 5,000 hryvnias. Although the amount of the sanction is small by football fine standards, the very fact of being held disciplinary responsible for a formal violation highlights the committee's strict approach to compliance with protocol procedures.

Crushing Defeat in the 9th Round and the Coaching Staff's Reaction

The match against LNZ became one of the most painful for Kryvbas in the current championship. The crushing score left no doubt that the team was experiencing serious difficulties. Then-head coach of the Kryvyi Rih side, Patrick van Leeuwen, publicly expressed disappointment after the match with the actions of several players who came on as substitutes after the break. According to the Belgian specialist, he expected these players to show a desire to prove their worth and earn a place in the starting lineup, but on the pitch, they demonstrated, in his assessment, a sense of self-superiority and insufficient dedication.

The Problem of "Star" Behavior After National Team Call-Ups

Van Leeuwen was particularly annoyed by the situation with players who, after being called up to the national team, in his opinion, began to behave like "stars." The coach emphasized that such an attitude devalues the work of the entire team and creates a disbalance within the squad. His statements indicate that inside Kryvbas there is a systemic problem with discipline and motivation among part of the roster, which goes beyond a single episode with flash interviews and touches upon deeper issues of team culture.

Context: CDC Fine Practices in the Current Season

The sanction against Kryvbas is not an isolated case in the current championship. Earlier, the UAF CDC fined Polissya 145,000 hryvnias after their victory over Dynamo Kyiv — a significantly larger amount, indicating that the disciplinary committee applies a wide range of sanctions depending on the severity of the violation. The 5,000 hryvnia fine for skipping a flash interview belongs to the lowest severity category, yet its imposition demonstrates the UAF's consistent approach to enforcing regulatory procedures at all levels of the championship.

For Kryvbas, the current period consists of a series of negative factors: crushing defeats, public conflicts within the coaching staff, and disciplinary penalties. The team will not only have to solve tactical and playing tasks in the remaining matches of the 9th and subsequent rounds, but also put things in order in the locker room so that formal violations and internal frictions do not become a systemic factor worsening results on the pitch.
