European football has wrapped up the 2025/26 season in the Conference League, and Donetsk's Shakhtar emerged as one of the main heroes of the awards ceremony. Although the trophy went to London, UEFA recognized the Ukrainian club's contribution to the tournament's spectacle, awarding the "miners" two prestigious individual honors.
Team of the Season: Recognition for Pedro Henrique's Talent
UEFA's technical observers formed the ideal XI of the season, which included only one representative from Shakhtar. This player was 23-year-old Brazilian left-back Pedro Henrique. His performance in the current campaign was duly appreciated: the Brazilian became a key cog in the defense, helping the team reach the semi-finals.
In the European campaign, Henrique participated in 11 matches, scoring a goal and providing an assist. In total, he played 40 games across all competitions this season, proving himself to be one of the most promising defenders on the continent.
Izaki's Masterpiece: The Tournament's Best Goal
While only one player made it into the Team of the Season, Shakhtar secured two spots in the best goals ranking. The absolute leader of the rankings was 19-year-old midfielder Izaki. His explosive diving volley, scored in the 85th minute of the first leg of the round of 16 against Polish side Lech, was crowned the goal of the season.
This goal, which was part of a major victory (3:1), demonstrated the incredible technique and instincts of the young Brazilian. In the current season, Izaki has played 38 matches, recording 7 goals and 7 assists to his name.
Spectacular Finale and Other Awards
Shakhtar's second goal in the season's top 10 was scored by forward Eginaldo. His spectacular strike in the semi-final second leg against Crystal Palace also garnered attention from experts. The tournament itself was won by the London club, four of whose players made it into the Team of the Season. Ismaïla Sarr of Crystal Palace was named the Player of the Season.
For Shakhtar, this season was bright despite the semi-final defeat. The individual awards confirm that the team continues to be a breeding ground for talents capable of shining on the European stage.
