During a meeting of the Contact Group for Defense of Ukraine, known as the "Ramstein format," a strategic document was signed, cementing the deepening of military-industrial cooperation between Kyiv and Berlin. Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius officially ratified the agreement, which paves the way for the creation of modern air defense systems.

Joint development of interceptor missiles

A key point of the signed document is the agreement on the joint development and production of ballistic missile interception systems. The project provides for direct interaction between Ukrainian and German defense companies. The goal of the cooperation is to create modern interceptor missiles capable of effectively countering the modern ballistic threats faced by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Production of "Termit" systems in Germany

In addition to aviation systems, the parties agreed on a large-scale project in the field of robotics. According to the terms of the agreement, the German side will finance the joint production of Ukrainian ground robotic "Termit" systems directly on German territory.

The plans for equipment production are large-scale: several thousand such systems are planned to be manufactured for the needs of the Ukrainian army. This decision will not only saturate the troops with modern equipment but also integrate Ukrainian developments into European defense logistics.

Context of international negotiations

The signing of the agreement was a logical continuation of high-level discussions. At the G7 summit, new mechanisms for strengthening Ukraine's air defense were previously discussed. In particular, partner country leaders considered issues of increasing the range of weapons and the development of military equipment production both in Ukraine and in allied countries. The "Ramstein format" allowed these agreements to be transformed into specific legal documents with clear obligations of the parties.
