The summer season, traditionally filled with tourist trips and active passenger transport, will not cause the suspension of bus traffic through one of the key border crossings. Ukraine and Poland have reached an important agreement: the "Shehyni — Medyka" checkpoint will continue to operate in normal mode even during the period of repair work.

Previously, the Polish side warned of a possible temporary suspension of bus processing for entry into Poland through this crossing. The reason is the need to carry out repair work on one of the busiest border sections, which serves thousands of passengers and international carriers every day. Such a decision could have seriously disrupted transport communication between the countries precisely during the peak period of summer holidays.

Compromise found thanks to dialogue

The issue was promptly considered during negotiations between the relevant ministries of the two countries with the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland. The parties managed to find a compromise solution that will allow bus traffic to continue without interruptions throughout the entire summer season.

According to the agreements reached, the processing of buses through "Shehyni — Medyka" will continue without interruption. This means that citizens planning trips between Ukraine and Poland will not face additional difficulties due to repairs. The decision will also ensure the stable operation of international bus carriers and help maintain familiar routes for crossing the border.

Result of constructive dialogue

The Ukrainian side emphasized that the agreement reached was the result of a constructive dialogue between the ministries of the two states. The prompt resolution of the issue made it possible to avoid potential problems for a large number of passengers and carriers whose interests were directly affected by the possible suspension of the checkpoint's work.

New rules for drivers

In addition to maintaining the operation of the border crossing, it is worth noting another important change in the border crossing system. A new document verification mechanism has been implemented in the "єЧерга" (eCherga) service. Now, the system automatically controls the presence and validity of the international insurance policy "Green Card," which is necessary for vehicles to leave the country. This innovation is designed to simplify the processing process and avoid delays at the border due to lack of insurance.

Thus, Ukrainian-Polish cooperation in the transport sector demonstrates flexibility and the ability to promptly solve emerging problems, ensuring the unimpeded movement of citizens and cargo even under conditions of technical work.
