Major personnel changes are coming to the Ukrainian government. It has become known who will take key posts in the new team, which will be led by Serhiy Koretskyi. The main news of the day is the appointment of Ihor Klimenko as Minister of Defense.
Key figures of the new team
According to information provided by People's Deputy from the "Servant of the People" party, Olha Vasylevska-Smaglyuk, the structure of the new Cabinet of Ministers will undergo significant changes. Oleksiy Sobolev will leave the post of Minister of Economy. Instead, he will move to work at the President's Office. His place in the Ministry of Economy will be taken by Oleksandr Kravchenko.
In addition to these changes, new appointments will affect other sectors as well:
- Taras Vysotskyi will head the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
- Andriy Butenko will become the head of the Ministry of Education.
Vasylevska-Smaglyuk noted that, with the exception of the mentioned reshuffles, the rest of the government members will retain their positions.
Reasons for personnel decisions
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced an update to the composition of the government. As part of this reorganization, the current head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Yulia Sviridenko, is expected to head the Ukrainian embassy in the USA. The position of Prime Minister, according to the latest data, will pass to Serhiy Koretskyi.
Experts and sources at the President's Office explain the decision to reboot the government as a necessity to prepare the country for complex challenges. One of the key reasons cited is the upcoming heating season, which, according to forecasts, may prove extremely difficult for infrastructure and the population.
