A massive electricity supply restriction regime is coming into force in Ukraine. Tomorrow, June 30, power outage schedules will be in effect across the entire country, affecting both industrial facilities and residential consumers. Energy experts have warned that the situation in the power system remains critical.

Reason: abnormal heat and air conditioners

The operator of the electricity distribution system, "Ukrenergo," has explained the reasons for introducing strict measures. The main factor was a sharp spike in electricity consumption caused by the established abnormal heat. The mass switching on of air conditioners in homes and offices across the country created an extreme load on the power grids, which the system cannot handle in normal mode.

Chronology of events: from rumors to reality

The situation began to heat up as early as the morning of June 29. Messages about the possible introduction of power outage schedules in a number of regions began to spread on social media: Khmelnytskyi, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Volyn, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk.

Rumors quickly turned into reality. Soon it became known that emergency power outages had already been introduced in the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne regions. This served as a signal to prepare for a nationwide restriction regime.

Schedules for Kyiv and regions

By evening, information about plans for the next day became more detailed. The DTEK company website has already published power outage schedules for June 30 for Kyiv residents. Other regions of Ukraine are also preparing to operate in a limited power supply mode to prevent a complete collapse of the power system.
