The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially announced the introduction of a new material incentive system for the personnel of the Armed Forces. According to the department's statement, servicemen who capture or eliminate the enemy during hostilities are now entitled to receive substantial cash bonuses.

The decision to introduce payments was announced by a representative of the military department during an official briefing. The new policy is based on an understanding of the high level of risk faced by fighters entering close combat, as well as the strategic necessity of replenishing the fund for prisoner exchanges.

Payment Scheme and Conditions

The department has approved a differentiated reward system, the size of which depends on the nature of the actions and the status of the enemy serviceman. According to the data presented, the conditions for awarding bonuses are as follows:

  • Capturing an enemy serviceman is rewarded with a payment of 100,000 hryvnias.
  • Eliminating a combatant directly during a gunfight is rewarded with a supplement of 15,000 hryvnias.

The Ministry of Defense spokesperson emphasized that these measures are intended to adequately assess the contribution of soldiers who take maximum risks to fulfill combat tasks.

"We have an important additional component — these are bonuses for captives and for killed enemy soldiers. They are extremely important because, when a person enters a gunfight, it is the greatest risk, and it must be adequately assessed for the contribution they make to the war," the department representative explained.

Strategic Aspect: Exchange Fund

In addition to financial motivation, the Ministry of Defense focused on the humanitarian component of the new initiative. Capturing prisoners is viewed as a key mechanism for replenishing the exchange fund.

"And, of course, Russian prisoners are also important to us, as this is an exchange fund to bring home Ukrainian servicemen who are in captivity," the spokesperson added.

Thus, the introduced measures are aimed at a dual goal: strengthening the combat motivation of the personnel and facilitating the speedy return of detained Ukrainian citizens.
