Ukraine has been hit by a wave of extreme heat, which on June 29, 2026, set dozens of new temperature records across various regions. In one of the cities, thermometer readings even "jumped" past the +38°C forecast by meteorologists.

This is reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing a post by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center on Facebook.

Records in Regional Centers

According to specialists from UkrGMZ, during Monday, June 29, 2026, new temperature records were recorded in 12 regional centers of Ukraine.

"Daily maximums in some regions have once again surpassed their previous historical record values for this date," they explained to Ukrainians.

It is emphasized that according to meteorological station data, exceedances of 0.1–4.8°C were recorded.

Heat in the Regions

Browsing the social media pages of various regional hydrometeorological centers, one can notice several dozen other temperature records set by the heat on June 29.

Thus, in Volyn, apart from Lutsk, five absolute maximums of air temperature (for all years of observation at weather stations) were recorded.

In Ivano-Frankivsk region, apart from the regional center, further temperature records were recorded on June 29 in three settlements.

Furthermore, the maximum air temperature on Pohrebyshche — one of the peaks of the Ukrainian Carpathians — reached +26.6°C (whereas the previous maximum value was +23.2°C and was observed in 1994).

In Zhytomyr region, the absolute maximum temperature for all years of observation was recorded on June 29 not only in the regional center but also in four other settlements.

In Khmelnytskyi region, according to local weather station observations, temperature records were recorded in four locations apart from the regional center.

In Kyiv region, during June 29, the highest maximum air temperature was recorded at three meteorological stations.

In Mykolaiv region, against the backdrop of anomalous heat, exceedances of previous maximum temperatures for June 29 were recorded at two meteorological stations.
