Ukraine has ended up in last place among European countries regarding the affordability of the upcoming game Grand Theft Auto VI. To purchase the base edition, a Ukrainian specialist would have to work continuously for more than 31 hours. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a study by The World in Maps.

Comparison of prices and wages

Analysts at The World in Maps conducted a large-scale study, comparing global game prices with the average net hourly wage in various European states. The results were disheartening for the Ukrainian region: the country demonstrated the lowest indicator on the continent.

For comparison: a resident of Luxembourg, which topped this list, needs to spend only 1.5 hours at work to easily afford the purchase of a licensed copy. Thus, Ukrainians have to work almost 19 times longer for entertainment.

Prices in other European countries

In other European countries, the situation with purchasing the standard version looks as follows (data provided by researchers at The World in Maps):

  • Germany — 4.2 hours of work
  • France — 4.8 hours of work
  • Italy — 5.6 hours of work
  • Poland — 7.3 hours of work
  • Czechia — 6.1 hours of work
  • United Kingdom — 3.9 hours of work
  • Netherlands — 3.5 hours of work
  • Sweden — 4.0 hours of work
  • Norway — 3.7 hours of work
  • Denmark — 3.6 hours of work

Release date and pre-orders

The official release of the long-awaited game by developers Rockstar Games is scheduled for November 19, 2026. Despite there being time left before the game's release, publishers have already opened official pre-orders — but only for owners of PlayStation 5 consoles, as well as Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

Those who prefer gaming on PC will have to wait — their version will appear later.

Official prices for digital copies

At the moment, the following official prices for digital copies of the game have been set:

  • Standard Edition — $69.99
  • Premium Edition — $99.99

The price difference between editions is due to additional content available in the premium version: exclusive items, early access to certain features, and bonus in-game resources.
