The Ukrainian Armed Forces have received a batch of ten ALTO NG trainer aircraft. The aviation equipment was transferred to Ukraine by the Air Force Capabilities Coalition with the support of the Czech government and the "Dárek pro Putina" charitable foundation. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing the Ministry of Defense press service.

Reducing training costs and accelerating preparation

The availability of light aircraft for the Armed Forces of Ukraine will allow for the establishment of a full-fledged training base within the country. The key advantage of switching to such equipment will be a drastic reduction in the cost of a flight hour compared to using combat aviation. Furthermore, this will accelerate the process of adapting Ukrainian pilots to complex Western equipment, training them to NATO standards.

Technical capabilities of the ALTO NG

The aircraft are equipped with modern equipment that allows future pilots to effectively practice a wide range of skills. The training program includes:

  • Mastering control techniques in various weather and tactical conditions;
  • Practicing navigation;
  • Takeoff and landing procedures;
  • Preparation for transitioning to modern Western fighters.

Such an approach to training significantly increases the combat readiness of the flight crew, making air defense more modern and effective.

International solidarity

The transfer of aviation equipment took place as part of international support. Five aircraft were provided with direct financial support from the Czech government, while another five were donated as aid from Czech citizens through the "Dárek pro Putina" charitable foundation.

Context of military aid

The delivery of trainer aircraft complements other areas of support for the Ukrainian army. Previously, it was reported that the troops received Swedish Giraffe radar systems capable of detecting various types of drones, aircraft, and cruise missiles. Also, a unique DART missile was created in Ukraine, launched directly from stratospheric balloons. The main feature of this development is its complete resistance to enemy electronic warfare means.
