The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the effective performance of air defense during the daytime attack on November 3, 2026. According to data cited by RBC-Ukraine with reference to an Air Force statement on Telegram, Ukrainian defenders neutralized 56 jet-powered Shahed drones throughout the day. This accounts for about 75% of all jet drones launched by the enemy in the daytime attack wave.
Nature of the Daytime Attack
According to the Air Force, between 06:30 and 19:00, the enemy attacked Ukraine with 81 strike UAVs, of which 74 were jet-powered Shaheds, alongside Gerber drones and other types of aircraft. Preliminarily, air defense systems shot down or suppressed 62 UAVs, including 56 jet-powered ones. Thus, the share of shot-down jet drones in the daytime wave constituted approximately three-quarters of those launched.
Combat Operations Continue
The military statement emphasizes that the air situation remains tense. «There are several enemy UAVs in the airspace, combat operations are ongoing! Do not ignore the alert!» the Air Force urged. This indicates that at the time of publication, the attack was not yet fully completed, and final figures are subject to refinement.
Context: Nighttime Attack and Impacts
Earlier, on the night of November 3, Russia launched missiles and 289 strike drones against Ukraine. According to air defense forces, 309 targets were shot down or suppressed, though the statement notes «impacts» — meaning some strike assets reached their targets. This signifies that despite high interception rates, the nighttime attack caused damage to certain facilities.
Dynamics: Comparison with November 2
To assess the dynamics of air defense operations, it is worth comparing the figures with the previous day. During the daytime attack on November 2, air defense shot down 78 jet-powered Shaheds out of 103 launched, which also amounted to about 75%. Thus, the interception efficiency of jet drones in the daytime waves of November 2–3 remains at a comparable level—around three-quarters of the launched devices.
