On Wednesday, September 9, four matches were played in the Round of 32 of the Ukrainian Cup, at the end of which Polissya, Left Bank, Zorya and Metalist earned their places in the next round of the tournament. The matchday turned out to be a tough one: one of the games had to be interrupted due to an air raid alert, while another was decided only in a penalty shootout. A detailed breakdown of all the day's results is available in the article by Sport RBC.UA, based on the data from which this summary was prepared.

Left Bank survived the penalty shootout

The most dramatic contest was the match between Agrobusiness and Left Bank. The home side led for almost the entire game and even got a chance to put the result beyond doubt: the referee awarded them a penalty, but the players coached by Oleksandr Chyzhevskyi failed to convert it. The "storks" only equalized in the added time of the second half, and in the subsequent penalty shootout it was Left Bank that proved more accurate and advanced to the Round of 16.

Metalist and Zorya saw out their opponents

Metalist narrowly beat Sumy's Viktoria thanks to a goal by Prykhodko, scored in the 77th minute. Luhansk's Zorya also saw out their opponent in the second half: thanks to the efforts of Horbach and Budkovskyi, the team passed Mariupol's Phoenix and moved on to the next round of the Ukrainian Cup.

An air raid alert interrupted Polissya's match

The final match of the matchday was the encounter between Polissya and Kudrivka. The Zhytomyr side had the advantage but could not turn it into goals for a long time. At the start of the second half, play was suspended due to an air raid alert, which dragged on: the match was only resumed at 22:35. After the break, the players coached by Ruslan Rotan secured the win — Haiduchyk and Andrade scored.

What's next: Dynamo vs Nyva and the final match of the round

The last match of the current week in the Round of 32 will take place on September 10, when Kyiv's Dynamo host Vinnytsia's Nyva. The round will be completed next week — the final six matches will be played on September 16 and 17. Earlier, Epicenter, Oleksandriya and Novyi Razdil had already earned their places in the Round of 16 of the Ukrainian Cup.
