The Ukrainian national team marked a successful start at the European Aquatics Championships taking place in Paris. The first award of the continental championship for the Ukrainian team was the bronze medals in the mixed team diving event. In a fierce competition, the Ukrainian athletes edged out their closest rival, the Polish team, by a minimal margin of 0.15 points.
Triumph in the Team Mixed Event
The competitions in the 3-meter springboard and 10-meter platform diving disciplines were the first to award medals. The Ukrainian quartet, consisting of Ksenia Bochek, Kyryl Bolukh, Oleksiy Sereda, and Ksenia Baylo, demonstrated a stable performance. After six dives, the team scored 368.20 points, securing the third place and completing the podium.
The result was particularly valuable given the stiff competition. The advantage over the Polish team, which finished fourth, was critically small — just one-fifth of a point. This confirms the high level of preparation of Ukrainian athletes and their ability to achieve success under the most difficult conditions.
A History of Success in Team Events
For the Ukrainian team, this bronze became the third award at the European Aquatics Championships specifically in the team mixed discipline. In 2022 and 2024, Ukrainian divers won silver medals, indicating the stability and progress of the national school.
It is worth separately noting the success of the Ukrainian national team at the 2025 European Diving Championships, where the team won the overall medal tally, securing six awards, five of which were gold. These achievements underscore Ukraine's status as one of the leading countries in this sport on the continent.
Tournament Schedule in Paris
The European Championships in Paris will run from July 31 to August 16. Over the course of two weeks, athletes from various countries will compete for more than 70 sets of medals across five sports: swimming, open water swimming, artistic swimming, diving, and high diving. The success of the Ukrainian team in the opening competitions instills hope for new victories throughout the tournament.
