At the 2026 European Aquatics Championships, taking place in the French capital, the Ukrainian national team continues to conquer the podium. A new triumph was the performance of the duo Alexey Sereda and Mark Hrytsenko in the synchronized 10-meter platform event. The athletes won bronze medals, demonstrating character and skill in the final showdown.
Dramatic path to the medal
The final of the synchronized 10-meter platform dive did not start according to plan for the Ukrainian duo. After the first two attempts, Sereda and Hrytsenko were in only sixth place, trailing the leaders. However, the Ukrainians did not panic: they managed to pull themselves together, refine their technique, and execute the subsequent dives at the highest level. This allowed them to significantly improve their scores and confidently move into the top three.
Final result and competitors
In total, Alexey and Mark scored 406.05 points. This result was enough for third place, losing only to duos from Italy and athletes competing in neutral status. This award became the third for the Ukrainian national team at the current continental championship.
Ukrainian divers' medal tally
The success of Sereda and Hrytsenko fits into the general series of victories for the Ukrainian team at Euro 2026. Earlier, our athletes had already won "bronze" in the team mixed event, as well as climbed the third step of the podium in the women's synchronized 10-meter platform dive. Thus, the Ukrainian school of diving demonstrates a consistently high level on the international arena.
