The situation in Crimea and the occupied territories of the Donbas has escalated to a critical point. Since the beginning of July, Ukrainian drones have launched a series of massive strikes against enemy infrastructure, leading to a collapse in power supply. Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, confirmed that over six days of summer, the "birds" of the USF destroyed 37 energy facilities.

Total blackout: occupiers' admission

The result of the operation was a complete halt in electricity supply. The so-called "authorities" on the peninsula were forced to admit the fact of a total blackout covering all districts of the Southern Coast of Crimea (YBK) and Simferopol. According to Brovdi, the "Crimean switch" could not withstand the load at the 38th step of the offensive.

Particular attention was paid to the night attack on a key node of the main power grid — the 330 kV "Simferopol" substation. This strike was the thirty-eighth in a series of successful operations conducted between July 1 and 5.

Who carried out the strikes

The operation was carried out by several units operating within the framework of the Unmanned Systems Forces. The attacks involved:

  • Operators of the 1st Operational Center of the USF;
  • 9th Battalion "Kairos" of the 414th Separate Battalion of the USF "Madyar's Birds";
  • 412nd Separate Battalion "Nemesis";
  • "Phoenix" unit.

Threat of total collapse and new targets

Robert Brovdi warned that current events are just the beginning of the deoccupation process. He announced the possibility of a "cascade collapse" of the peninsula's power system, after which Crimea could be left without electricity and communications. The commander's statement contains a sarcastic warning: "Let's see, let them take the hundredth step of traveling through sockets during July... There will be no electricity or communication then, so you will use carrier pigeons".

In addition to energy infrastructure, fuel reserves were also hit. On the same night, the USF attacked two gasoline tankers heading to Crimea and set fire to an oil depot on the peninsula.

Strategic growth of activity

These events fit into the general picture of a sharp increase in the activity of Ukrainian forces. Since the beginning of 2026, the number of attacks in the operational and strategic depth of the enemy has increased by 1150%. The military regularly publish lists of damaged targets, demonstrating the effectiveness of new tactics.

Recently, Ukrainian drones successfully struck military aviation. In particular, the SBU struck the "Saki" airfield again, disabling seven fighters, and attacked hangars at the "Gvardeyskoye" airfield. These actions confirm that strikes on Crimea are systematic, affecting both civilian and military infrastructure.
