In the conditions of modern warfare, where technology changes the rules of the game faster than regulations are updated, Ukrainian military forces have demonstrated a new level of adaptability. The 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign reported the elimination of a unique target — a vehicle used as a mobile launcher for 'Shahed' kamikaze drones.

Seeking to bypass restrictions and increase the mobility of their strike groups, Russian military forces have switched to using non-standard methods for launching unmanned aerial vehicles. Instead of stationary positions or railway platforms, they began using modified pickup trucks.

According to data obtained from open sources and confirmed by video footage, the launch process looks as follows: a vehicle with a drone secured on a special platform accelerates on a straight section of the road. Once the necessary speed is reached, the 'Shahed', with its engine already running, leaves the guide rail and flies towards the target. This method allows for rapid position changes and complicates the task for the enemy's air defense systems.

Counterstrike: Destruction of the Launcher

Ukrainian military forces did not remain in debt. The press service of the 28th OMBr noted that the target of the strike was specifically the machine used for launching drones. "Today's rare target is a vehicle used as a launcher for 'Shahed' type drones. For the first time. We help protect peaceful Ukrainian cities from this pest," the unit's statement reads.

To eliminate the target, a strike unmanned aerial vehicle was used. This decision demonstrates the effectiveness of the "drone against drone" tactic and the ability of Ukrainian units to respond to new threats in real-time.
