Nighttime lights and air raid sirens have become a familiar backdrop for occupied territories, but the strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the night of May 28 exceeded the enemy's expectations. This was not just a series of routine attacks, but a surgically precise operation aimed at blinding the enemy's command and reconnaissance system. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed: Russian occupiers lost control over key air defense nodes in Crimea and logistics hubs in Donbas.
Blinding the Enemy's 'Eyes' in Crimea
The main target in Crimea was the ST-68 radar station in Feodosia. This is not just a piece of hardware, but a critically important element of the air defense system, tasked with detecting aerial targets and transmitting coordinates for engagement. Destroying or damaging such a radar means that a 'blind spot' appears in the station's sector of responsibility. In modern warfare, where drones and precision weapons dominate, the loss of radar coverage is tantamount to losing the ability to defend the sky.
Decimation of Command Centers in Donbas
Simultaneously with the strike on Crimea, Ukrainian military forces launched a series of strikes on unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) control points in the Kalynove and Novohrodovka areas of the Donetsk region. The liquidation of these centers paralyzes the occupiers' ability to use drones for reconnaissance and fire adjustment. Without the 'brain center,' UAVs turn into useless pieces of plastic and metal.
The General Staff paid special attention to the strike on the control point in the Paraskeviivka area. The destruction of the object and irrecoverable losses for the enemy were confirmed here: according to preliminary data, 18 servicemen were killed. This indicates that Ukrainian intelligence officers and strike system operators are working in perfect coordination, identifying and destroying not only equipment but also the enemy's personnel.
Strikes on Logistics and Rear Areas
The enemy tries to hold the front line through the endless supply of resources, but the Defense Forces are effectively striking at its 'arteries.' Material and technical assets were hit in Mariupol, Novoselyivka Second, and Buhaz, as well as an ammunition depot in the Grabove area. The loss of ammunition and equipment at depots forces the enemy to revise their plans and spend time restoring logistics, which on the front line is a luxury they cannot afford.
Synergy of Special Operations and Sabotage
The effectiveness of the strikes is largely due to the work of partisan groups, such as 'ATESH.' It is the intelligence data from these groups that allows for the precise identification of targets. Previously, 'ATESH' agents helped track air defenses before the strike on the largest oil storage facility in the Caucasus and conducted sabotage on the railway in occupied Luhansk, blocking the enemy's only stable logistics route. Today's strikes are a continuation of this strategy: targeted, but painful impact on all vulnerable points of the occupation machine.
