A real battle is brewing on the transfer market for one of the brightest talents in Ukrainian football. 23-year-old winger Maksym Khlan of Polish club Górnik Zabrze has attracted the attention of several prestigious European clubs. His rapid rise and impressive statistics last season have turned the player into one of the main targets on the continent.

Interest from Europe: who is on the list of contenders?

According to information from the authoritative insider Rudy Galetti, reported by RBC-Ukraine, three serious teams from different countries are interested in the Ukrainian's services. The list of potential employers for Khlan includes:

  • Spanish Espanyol;
  • Belgian Anderlecht;
  • Dutch NEC Nijmegen.

According to sources, the negotiation process has already been launched, although it is still in the early stages. However, the situation surrounding the footballer's future may develop at a rapid pace in the coming weeks, given the high demand for his services.

Breakthrough season: statistics and trophies

The explosive interest in Khlan is not accidental. Last season was a true showcase for him in the squad of the "tricolours". The Ukrainian midfielder established himself as a key figure for the team, playing 32 matches in all tournaments. He has 8 goals and 6 assists to his name.

Effective play brought significant achievements to the club from Zabrze. Together with Maksym, the team won the Polish Cup, won silver medals in the national championship, and, most importantly, secured a place in the Champions League qualifiers.

The road to the top: from academy to national team

Born in Zhytomyr, Maksym Khlan went through the schools of the Kyiv Dynamo and Lviv Karpaty academies. He made his debut in senior football in 2020. The player's path went through Luhansk Zorya, where he became a bronze medalist of the 2022/23 UPL season, and Gdansk Lechia. In Poland, he first helped Lechia win the First League, and then in August 2025 signed a two-year contract with Górnik.

The consistently high level of play did not go unnoticed in his homeland. In May, Khlan was included in the reserve list of the Ukrainian national team for the first time. He also has experience playing for the youth national team, where he played 13 matches and scored one goal.

Market value and contract

The authoritative portal Transfermarkt estimates the market value of the Ukrainian talent at 4 million euros. It is important to note that the player's current agreement with the Polish club runs until the summer of 2027, which gives Górnik serious leverage in the situation during possible transfer negotiations.
