The Ukrainian postal service «Ukrposhta» has officially become a verified partner of one of the world's largest marketplaces — Etsy. The agreement, signed following negotiations initiated during a leadership visit to the USA, opens new horizons for Ukrainian entrepreneurs selling handmade goods and original products.
The First Step Towards Global Integration
Ihor Smylianskyi, the General Director of «Ukrposhta», confirmed that the company has received the status of a verified Etsy partner for the first time in its history. This is not just a formal agreement — it changes the logistics and administration of international shipments for thousands of Ukrainian sellers.
Today, over two million Ukrainian goods are sold via Etsy, amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars. However, until now, the process of processing orders, printing labels, and clearing customs required significant manual effort. Now, everything will change.
Automation Instead of Red Tape
The key advantage of the new partnership is full IT integration between the platforms. Information about orders and postal labels will now be automatically transferred from Etsy to the «Ukrposhta» personal cabinet and vice versa. This will reduce the time spent on processing shipments and minimize human error.
Entrepreneurs will be able to focus on growing sales rather than filling out declarations and checking data. The system will automatically pull the necessary order parameters, generate a label, and prepare documents for shipment.
Customs Without the Headache
Special attention has been paid to the automation of customs procedures. «Ukrposhta» will take over the calculation of customs duties for shipments to the USA and European Union countries. This will simplify exports for small and medium-sized enterprises that previously faced difficulties crossing borders.
As Smylianskyi noted, such integration will allow Ukrainian sellers to enter the markets of practically any country in the world without losing time on bureaucracy.
What Does This Mean for Business?
For Ukrainian craftsmen, designers, and artists, this is an opportunity to scale their business without increasing the administrative burden. Automation lowers the barrier to entry for international markets and makes exports accessible even for beginner sellers.
The partnership with Etsy is not just a technical agreement. It is a strategic step that strengthens Ukraine's position as a center of creative production and enhances its presence in the global economy.
