Night attacks by Russian drones have struck critical infrastructure in Ukraine. In Kharkiv, a logistics hub of the national postal service, Ukrposhta, came under fire. A Russian Shahed kamikaze drone breached the air defense and crashed into the sorting center building.
Official confirmation was provided by the company's General Director, Ihor Smelyanskyi, in his Telegram channel. According to him, the facility sustained partial damage due to the direct hit. However, despite the building damage, the main news for the public is that no staff members were injured.
Postal operations remain uninterrupted
Company management has already mobilized resources to minimize the consequences of the attack. The team began working from the early hours of the morning to clear debris and restore the functionality of the hubs. Smelyanskyi assured that parcel deliveries within Kharkiv will take place today, and logistical chains will be restored as quickly as possible.
A crucial aspect for customers was the statement regarding financial responsibility. The General Director noted that the cost of all parcels that may have been destroyed as a result of the strike will be fully compensated.
Series of attacks on logistics
The incident in Kharkiv is not isolated. In recent days, logistics terminals have become a priority target for Russian attacks. RBK-Ukraine recalls that on June 3, a Nova Poshta terminal in Dnipro was hit. At that time, the facility was also partially destroyed, but no employees were injured.
The situation escalated on June 4, when Dnipro was struck for the second day in a row. As a result of the attack on the Nova Poshta terminal, a fire broke out, and unfortunately, eight people were injured. The series of strikes on postal infrastructure demonstrates an attempt to destabilize the delivery service and deprive citizens of the ability to receive necessary goods and medicines.
