Amidst ongoing hostilities and massive attacks on Ukrainian cities, the state postal service of Ukraine has announced the launch of a unique charitable initiative. The General Director of 'Ukrposhta', Ihor Smelyansky, confirmed the start of sales for a limited collection of historical service weapons.

As reported by RBC-Ukraine citing official sources, the proceeds from this campaign will go directly to the needs of the Armed Forces. The company donates 1,000 UAH from each sold item to support the Ukrainian army.

History in Detail: From Mail Guarding to Collection

The items for sale are samples that were in the arsenal of postal service employees for decades and were used to guard valuable shipments. The collection consists of two types of legendary weapons:

  • Nagan system revolvers — vintage models produced between 1929 and 1945.
  • TT pistols — samples manufactured between 1936 and 1954.

It is important to note that all items offered for sale have undergone a strict demilitarization procedure. They are not combat weapons and cannot be used for shooting. Legally, these items are classified as mass-and-gauge mock-ups intended exclusively for collecting and storage.

Authenticity and Symbolism

'Ukrposhta' emphasizes the high symbolism of this initiative. Each item in the collection is unique: it has its own individual serial number and is accompanied by a passport that confirms the authenticity and history of the item. This allows buyers to acquire not just a souvenir, but a genuine historical artifact with a documented biography.

The collection is already available for purchase in the official 'Ukrposhta.Market' online store. The platform features detailed photos, specifications, and the price of each exhibit. The run is limited, so buyers can acquire historical samples only within the available quantity.

Infrastructure Development

Alongside the launch of the charitable collection, the postal service continues to develop its logistics network. Earlier, the company announced the expansion of its network of postomat (automated parcel lockers). Since the end of June, automated parcel pickup points have begun operating in four additional locations across the country. This innovation is designed to simplify and speed up the process of receiving shipments for clients, ensuring service accessibility even under conditions of instability.
