The summer season in Ukraine has begun with important changes to the schedule. «Ukrzaliznytsia» has announced the launch of a new regional train connecting Odesa with the popular resort destination of Karolino-Buhaz. This innovation aims to solve logistics problems and help tourists avoid traffic jams on highways during the peak of the season.
Synchronization with long-distance routes
The main feature of the new route No. 838/837 is the careful planning of the schedule. The train will begin operating from June 28 on even-numbered days. The company emphasized that the departure time is synchronized with the arrival of morning long-distance trains.
Special logistics will allow passengers arriving from Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Rakhiv, and Chernivtsi, as well as tourists from abroad, to continue their journey to the sea without long waits for transfers. Thus, a convenient transport chain is created for travelers from all over the country.
Comfort and speed
A modernized electric train equipped with an air conditioning system will operate on the route — a critically important factor for comfort during the summer heat. The travel time between stations will be about one hour, making the trip fast and efficient.
Tickets for the new route are already available for purchase. They can be booked via the «Ukrzaliznytsia» mobile app in the «Long-distance» section.
An alternative to car traffic jams
The carrier's press service noted that the new route will become a full-fledged alternative to car trips. In summer, highways leading to the coast are often overcrowded, and rail transport allows passengers to reach the sea faster and more calmly, bypassing traffic jams.
The launch of the train to Odesa coincides with the introduction of the summer schedule, which comes into force on June 28. During this period, the carrier is expanding its network of routes, switching some services to daily operation, and speeding up certain trains. Special attention is being paid to popular mountain destinations.
Record demand for transport
This innovation comes against the backdrop of abnormal demand for train tickets. According to the carrier, more than a million passengers were transported in two weeks. However, on the most in-demand routes, such as Kyiv — Odesa and Kyiv — Lviv, the number of people wishing to travel exceeds the available number of seats several times over. The launch of additional regional routes is intended to partially relieve the system and meet the needs of tourists.
