Railway passengers in Ukraine are facing significant changes to the timetable. Starting June 28, 2026, Ukrzaliznytsya is introducing a new schedule that fundamentally alters transport logistics. The company has announced a major update: 12 new routes are being added to the network, while several existing routes will operate as express services.

Optimization without new rolling stock

A key feature of the upcoming changes is that they are being implemented without purchasing additional rolling stock. The carrier's press service emphasized that the schedule update was made possible solely through the deep optimization of existing resources. This allows for increased frequency on popular routes, making travel more accessible and convenient for citizens.

Focus on mountain routes

The most significant adjustments will affect logistics related to mountainous regions. The updated schedule aims to improve transport accessibility in these areas, ensuring more comfortable connections for tourists and local residents. Additionally, the changes will affect other high-demand routes, where passengers are promised a denser schedule.

What passengers need to know

In connection with the implementation of the new schedule, Ukrzaliznytsya strongly recommends that all passengers check ticket availability in advance. Up-to-date information on routes and timetables can be obtained through the official mobile app or the carrier's website. It is advisable to plan trips taking the new time slots into account to avoid inconvenience on the day of departure.
