Seeking to preserve expensive equipment, Russian military forces attempted to hide a Pantsir-S1 air defense missile and gun system in an underground storage facility. The logic was simple: an underground shelter was supposed to provide reliable protection against air strikes. However, Ukrainian drone operators proved that even the most meticulously planned camouflage measures do not guarantee safety.

Strike on an 'invisible' target

The incident occurred in the Zaporizhzhia direction. According to the Department of Active Actions (DAA) of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Russian occupiers placed the SAM-Gun Complex in an underground bunker, believing this would protect the system from attacks. Nevertheless, drone operators located the target despite all attempts to conceal it.

The strike delivered was precise and devastating. As a result of the attack, the complex was completely destroyed. The situation at the site of the strike was captured on video, which was later published by the GUR. The footage shows the equipment burning to the ground, while Russian servicemen scurry around the burning object.

Intelligence reaction

The Department of Active Actions reacted to the success of the operation with characteristic cynicism. "The occupiers tried to hide their SAM-Gun Complex in an underground shelter, but the DAA drones performed so well that the equipment burned to the ground," the agency stated. Commenting on the video, DAA representatives added: "We really like how it burns, while the Russians run around and scurry. We will continue working."

Context: successes in the Zaporizhzhia direction

The destruction of the 'Pantsir' became part of a broader picture of hostilities in the region. Recently, Ukrainian defenders regained control over Stepanivka. The operation was carried out by fighters of the GUR special unit 'Artan' in close cooperation with other units of the Defense Forces.

According to military intelligence, during offensive actions, Ukrainian troops managed to drive Russian occupiers out of fortified positions and take control of key facilities in the settlement. These successes demonstrate the effectiveness of coordination between intelligence and combat units, as well as the growing role of unmanned systems in the modern conflict.
