On the night of June 13, the Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukraine carried out a precision operation against a strategically important industrial facility in occupied Crimea. The target of the strike was the "Crimean Titanium" plant, located in the city of Armyansk on the Perekop Isthmus.
The attack was confirmed by the Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdi, known by the callsign "Madjar". According to him, objective control confirmed the successful destruction of the target. Brovdi characterized this operation as a "courtesy visit" by Ukrainian drones, noting that a fire was recorded on the site and production processes have been suspended.
Strategic significance of the target
The "Crimean Titanium" plant is the largest producer of titanium dioxide in Eastern Europe. Prior to the occupation of the peninsula, the enterprise played a key role in the regional economy; however, it is now fully integrated into the logistics of the Russian military-industrial complex.
The plant's main product is raw material used for the production of gunpowder, rocket fuel, and explosives. Currently, the enterprise's assets are owned by structures of the Russian company "Russian Titanium," which seized the plant following the annexation of Crimea.
Precedents of attacks on Crimea's chemical industry
The attack on "Crimean Titanium" is not an isolated incident. In November 2025, units under the command of "Madjar" had already struck another strategic facility in the north of the peninsula — the Perekop Bromine Plant in Krasnoperekopsk.
The Bromine Plant, which is the sole producer of bromine-containing chemical compounds in Eastern Europe, also supplied the needs of the Russian military-industrial complex. The repetition of successful operations against chemical infrastructure demonstrates a systematic approach to striking the enemy's rear industrial capacity.
History of accidents and risks of technological disasters
The history of "Crimean Titanium" is marred by serious incidents. In 2018, a massive release of harmful substances occurred at the enterprise, forcing authorities to evacuate more than 500 residents of Armyansk from the danger zone.
In 2023, the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of Ukraine reported that occupation authorities might use the plant as a tool for destabilization. According to intelligence data, the occupiers mined the enterprise workshops, creating preconditions for the deliberate staging of a technological disaster if necessary.
