The Directorate of the Ukrainian Premier League has approved the date and time for the resumption of the interrupted 11th-round match between Kyiv's 'Livyi Bereh' and Chernivtsi's 'Bukovyna'. The match, which was halted due to a prolonged air raid alert back in late October, will resume on Saturday, November 14, at 12:00. This is reported by Sport RBC.UA, citing the official UPL website. The teams are scheduled to play only the second half of the match, as the score stood at 1:0 in favor of the Chernivtsi club after the first half.

How the Match Was Halted and Why Resumption Was Delayed

The original 11th-round meeting kicked off on October 31 at the 'Arena Livyi Bereh' in the Kyiv region. The teams managed to complete the entire first half; however, the game had to be stopped before the start of the second half due to a prolonged air raid alert. Initially, the resumption was planned for November 1 at 12:00, but security conditions did not allow the match to restart on time. As a result, the match was postponed indefinitely, and now the league directorate has set a specific date — November 14.

Regulatory Grounds and Coordination with UEFA

The resumption will take place during the international break when national teams are playing friendly and qualifying matches. According to Sport RBC.UA, the decision was made taking into account the requests of both clubs, current UPL regulations, and after coordination with the Ukrainian Association of Football and UEFA. This means that the resumption format — one half without extra time — fully complies with international requirements and does not require a replay of the match.

The Score, Hrusha's Goal, and Second-Half Stakes

The only goal in the first half was scored by 'Bukovyna' midfielder Vitaliy Hrusha in the 23rd minute; he sent the ball into the opponent's net after a deflection. Thus, 'Livyi Bereh' enters the second half trailing 0:1 and must score at least once within 45 minutes (plus stoppage time) to avoid defeat. For 'Bukovyna', the task is simpler: to maintain the advantage gained in the first half and hold the score until the final whistle.

Context: Three Unfinished Matches of the 11th Round

The 'Livyi Bereh' vs 'Bukovyna' match was not the only one that could not be completed in the 11th round of the UPL. It was previously reported that three matches were not finished in this round, one of which was the game between 'Polissya' and 'Kolos'. The widespread interruption of matches due to air raid alerts has become a characteristic feature of the current Ukrainian season, forcing the league to regularly adjust the calendar and seek solutions for rescheduling in coordination with the UAF and UEFA.

Thus, on November 14, the final fragment of the 11th-round match will take place at the 'Arena Livyi Bereh', with the result directly impacting the standings in the championship table. For both teams, it is a matter of not only their tournament position but also maintaining sportsmanship after the forced break dictated by safety circumstances.
