The deadline for undergoing free medical examinations under the state program "Health Screening 40+" is approaching for some participants. The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has warned: if the service is not paid for within the specified period, the allocated funds will automatically be returned to the state budget.
Deadline for recipients of funds before May 1
According to the Ministry of Health press service, strict time limits apply to citizens who received support funds of 2000 hryvnias in their accounts before May 1, 2026. For this category of participants, the deadline for payment of services is June 30, 2026, inclusive.
The Ministry emphasizes: if the money is not used on time, it will be annulled and returned to the state budget. This applies to those who have already gained access to funding but have not yet undergone the examination.
How to choose a clinic and undergo an examination
Participants of the program who need to meet the deadline must act promptly. The choice of medical institution is not tied to the place of residence or registration — the service can be obtained at any point in the country. Currently, there are 2,227 service provision locations available in the program database.
To find a suitable clinic, the Ministry of Health recommends using the online map on the official program website screening.moz.gov.ua. There you can see the full list of institutions ready to accept a patient.
New rules for participants after May 1
For citizens who received funds after May 1, 2026, updated rules apply. The period for using the allocated funds is two months from the moment the money is credited to the account. If this deadline is violated, the funds will also be automatically returned to the budget.
As of May 1, 2026, the application mechanism has been simplified: Ukrainians over 40 no longer need to wait 30 days after their birthday. Now, an application can be submitted at any convenient time. Currently, more than a million citizens have already taken advantage of the opportunity to participate in the program.
