Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk became the hero of an unusual episode related to the Ukrainian Premier League matchday nine fixture between Polissya and Kyiv's Dynamo. After the final whistle, he publicly demonstrated a record in which he had predicted in advance the victory of the Zhytomyr side over the favorites. This was reported by Sport RBC.UA, citing the UPL TV Instagram channel.

Unexpected appearance in the frame

The episode unfolded during the post-match interview of Polissya head coach Ruslan Rotan. Usyk unexpectedly appeared in the frame, addressed the journalists, and then showed his phone, on the screen of which his own prediction regarding the match outcome was saved. According to the source, the boxer made this record at 13:09.

Prediction made after the goalkeeper's red card

What adds special spice to the prediction is the exact moment it was recorded: by 13:09, Polissya's goalkeeper Oleh Kudryk had already been sent off in the fifth minute of the match. Nevertheless, Usyk publicly believed in the victory of the team left a man down, and this prediction ultimately proved correct.

Hat-trick and match outcome

Despite their numerical advantage, the Kyiv side failed to secure a victory. The hosts' forward Ihor Krasnopir scored a hat-trick, while Taras Mykhavko scored Dynamo's only goal. In the end, Polissya defeated the Kyiv club with ten men, which confirmed the accuracy of Usyk's prediction.

Consequences for Dynamo

The defeat in this match became one of the factors influencing staff decisions at the club: according to reports, Ihor Kostyuk was dismissed from his position as Dynamo head coach following this loss. Thus, the episode with Usyk's prediction turned out to be not only entertaining but also symbolic for the current stage of the UPL season.
