Ukrainian track and field athlete Viktoriia Tkachuk has officially announced the start of her preparations for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. For the athlete, this will mark her fourth participation in the planet's premier sporting event. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the athlete's official page on the social network Threads.

Tkachuk chose a symbolic date for her announcement — exactly two years before the start of the upcoming Olympics in the USA. The 31-year-old runner assured that, despite all challenges, she has already begun the arduous preparation process to once again take the start line under the blue-and-yellow flag.

A Dream Come True

Along with a motivating message, the track and field athlete published an archival photo of her sports diary, which she kept back in the 8th grade. In it, the very young Viktoriia ambitiously wrote about "preparing for the Olympic Games".

"I am preparing to have a chance to represent Ukraine again at the largest competitions in the world! This will be my fourth Olympics, and I am working tirelessly to make this dream come true again," wrote Viktoriia Tkachuk.

Today, the athlete is already making her childhood dream a reality. Tkachuk is one of the most experienced active Ukrainian track and field athletes in the 400-meter hurdles. Her resume already includes three Olympics, as well as a European Championship silver medal and titles as a multiple-time champion of Ukraine.

Sports Context

Tkachuk's decision to continue her career against the backdrop of other events in Ukrainian sports appears particularly significant. Earlier, it was reported that Yaroslava Mahuchikh participated in the Ukrainian summer championship for the first time in five years and won there. And Ukrainian Liudmyla Yulianovska set a new world record that had stood unbeaten for 36 years. These events highlight that Ukrainian sports continues to demonstrate high results and ambitions on the international stage.
