Ukrainian show business is undergoing a period of transformation, and one of the brightest examples of this process is the emergence of a new creative direction for singer Olya Polyakova. The artist, known to millions as a pop diva, presented a bold alter ego under the name Isolde Roth — the core of the musical project TheNogi. This move caused a wide resonance, and special attention was drawn to it by host Vyacheslav Solomka, who previously called Polyakova the 'queen of Ukrainian show business'.

The truth everyone is waiting for

In a comment to the RBC-Ukraine LIFE publication, Solomka reacted emotionally to the new stage of the singer's creativity. According to him, under current conditions, society is acutely lacking directness. People are in a state of internal tension, 'tearing apart like a steel cable,' and are waiting for someone to finally voice their true emotions.

"And do you know what is missing? Who will tell people the truth? Right now, people are so on edge. We are waiting for someone to finally tell the truth," — noted the host.

It is in this context that he recalled Polyakova. The host is convinced that the artist in her new works has gone beyond her usual image and is speaking a language that resonates with the audience's mood.

"And here comes Polyakova and says: 'You've all f***ed me over, go f*** yourself.' That's what everyone is thinking but is afraid to say out loud," — Solomka stated.

The TV host also quoted another sharp phrase from the singer, which, in his opinion, accurately conveys people's fatigue from constant pressure and demands: "You've had it. Time to live, time to make love, time to rest".

From 'princess' to 'queen'

Despite the provocative nature of the new works, Solomka emphasized that he was not disappointed in Polyakova. On the contrary, in his perception, the artist has become even stronger.

"She has grown even more in my eyes. They say: 'A queen must be graceful.' So, you can't do without a princess. If you bypass her, then only with a smile," — added the showman.

To conclude, the host emphasized that, in his opinion, the performer was one of the first to dare to speak to the audience as directly as possible: "Here she has become even more, because she was the first to come out and say it frankly in musical language".

The phenomenon of alter ego in pop culture

The alter ego format has long been known in world pop culture. At different times, Beyoncé turned to it with the Sasha Fierce image, Lady Gaga as Jo Calderone, Eminem with Slim Shady, and Nicki Minaj with the Roman Zolanski persona. Such stage roles allow artists to go beyond their usual image, talk about new topics, and address the audience more frankly.

For Polyakova, TheNogi became a space without limits. In the project's songs, she talks about what women often think but do not always dare to say out loud. The artist defines her new genre as 'bitch-pop' — a bold, adult, and provocative direction that, by design, is supposed to hit the nerve of the modern Ukrainian woman.

Future of the project and international ambitions

The single "Not the Time" (Ne na chasi) became the trigger song for TheNogi's debut album of the same name. The release of the album is scheduled for June 17, 2026. It will include ten tracks that will become the project's first full-length statement.

At the same time, Olya Polyakova is working on English-language material. After signing a contract with the British label State 51, the artist is recording new songs at a studio in London and sharing the process on her Instagram and blog.
