The situation with water supply on the occupied peninsula is worsening. On July 7, large-scale water supply disruptions will affect residents of nine cities and three districts in Crimea. Information about the upcoming outages came from the occupation enterprise "Voda Krym", as reported by RBC-Ukraine.

Scale of outages and causes

Occupation authorities explain the impending water collapse as a necessity for emergency repair work. However, the impact is not limited to urban agglomerations; adjacent rural territories are also under threat. The Belogorsky, Kurman, and Dzhankoy districts are at risk.

The causes of the water deficit in the region are complex. Among the main factors are critical problems with power supply and the depletion of reservoir reserves. Earlier, the occupation "head of administration" of Saki, Yulia Predybailo, stated that the city was left without water precisely due to a lack of electricity.

Confirmation of problems via satellite data

The complexity of the energy situation is confirmed by independent data. Satellite images have recorded fires at the "Saki" substation and railway station. These incidents directly affect the operation of pumping stations and water distribution systems.

Supply schedules and water delivery

The problem is not limited to single outages. Since July 1, strict water supply schedules have been introduced in villages in the south of the peninsula. The situation varies across different settlements:

  • In Yevpatoria, water is delivered by tankers, as centralized supply is impossible.
  • In the village of Verkhnyaya Kutuzovka in the Yalta district, water is supplied only during the day — from 06:00 to 22:00.
  • In the village of Luchistoye, restrictions are even stricter: on certain streets, water supply is available for only four hours in the evening.

Crimea's energy infrastructure continues to remain vulnerable. Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported on attacks by Ukrainian servicemen on an Russian oil tanker and an oil depot on the peninsula. Furthermore, in July, numerous enemy energy facilities in Crimea and the Donbas were hit by Ukraine, exacerbating the life-support situation in the region.
